Forugh Karimi

Forugh Karimi is a psychiatrist, psychotherapist and author.  She is currently the president of the department Transcultural Psychiatry of the Dutch Association of Psychiatry (NVvP).  She writes literary fiction, and her debut novel The Mothers of Mahipar (De moeders van Mahipar) is a family epic with a multi-generational story about the war in Afghanistan, refugees and survival in a new country.
