One of our core concepts in treatment, is a network focused approach; not only do we work with the people in need of help but we also involve their social networks and other involved caretakers.

Pro Persona is a major employer in the regions of Arnhem, Ede, Nijmegen, Tiel and Wolfheze. More than 3,500 employees contribute to our mission: to improve quality of life by enhancing (mental) health and wellbeing for our clients, help them to get grip on their diseases and symptoms, and to guide them towards new perspectives and purposes in life.

The transcultural team is one of Pro Persona’s specialised services. The team treats undocumented refugees. A target group of people whom are displaced, struggling with (war) trauma, and whose living conditions in the Netherlands are uncertain and sometimes unsafe. There is a high demand for psychological or psychiatric treatment for these people, whilst little specialised mental health care is accessible or available. This is about to change. From 2023 onward, Pro Persona is establishing in cooperation with with the municipality of Nijmegen, and partner organisation IrisZorg, a transcultural team. Under the lead of Mario Braakman (Professor by Special Appointment of Transcultural Forensic Psychiatry), this team will provide care to undocumented people in need of (specialised) mental help.
